Ideal For

Best For

  • ✓Finance operations teams sizing automation in accounts payable, record-to-report and financial close
  • ✓Insurance claims organisations measuring handling time across thousands of desktop users
  • ✓Transformation offices building a ranked, ROI-backed automation roadmap before buying agents or RPA
  • ✓Shared-service centres that need process documentation (PDDs) generated from real activity rather than SOPs

Not Ideal For

  • ✗Buyers who mainly want a proven, production agent builder today: HFS Research said in July 2025 that Mimica's agent layer had no proof points yet
  • ✗Organisations where works councils or employee policy rule out desktop activity recording, since every module depends on the recorder
  • ✗Small teams with a handful of processes, where the cost and change management of task mining outweighs the insight

Market Analysis

Enterprise-gradeTask miningProcess intelligence for AI agents

Pros

  • ✓Fast time to value: HFS Research notes it skips the contextual enrichment and back-end integration that log-based process mining needs
  • ✓Named enterprise references (Goodyear, ClearBank, Hexaware) and quantified savings claims across insurance, pharma and finance
  • ✓Owning the process maps gives it a direct path from discovery to agent building, which HFS calls an inside track

Cons

  • ✗The agent layer is the least proven part: HFS Research said in July 2025 it had no proof points for the agentic vision
  • ✗No published pricing or self-serve tier, so evaluation requires a sales-led demo and a scoped contract
  • ✗Depends on recording employee desktops, which brings change management, consent and works-council hurdles in some regions
  • ✗Most results quoted on its site are anonymised (an F100 insurer, an F100 pharma firm), which makes them hard to verify independently

Mimica is a process intelligence and task mining platform that records how employees actually perform desktop work, maps those processes automatically and generates AI agents to carry them out. It is built for enterprise transformation, operations and automation teams that need real process data before they fund agent or RPA projects.

Mimica, built by London-based Mimica Automation Ltd and founded in 2018, sells a process intelligence platform with three modules. Capture (sold as Miner) is a desktop recorder that logs clicks, keystrokes and screen interactions across applications, so a team can see where its time goes without interviews, whiteboarding or time studies. Map (Mapper) turns those recordings into end-to-end process maps, and Mimica says useful insight arrives after about a week of observation. Automate (Maker) is the newest module: it builds agents from the recorded process maps, and Mimica claims agents can go live in as little as 24 hours. The platform scores each captured workflow on frequency, structure and time spent, then exports agent blueprints, process definition documents and structured data for an existing automation stack. Privacy controls include automatic PII detection and anonymisation, employee start, pause and stop of recording, and app or website exclusions; the company says it is ISO 27001 and GDPR compliant. In September 2025 Mimica raised a $26.2 million (GBP 19.5 million) Series B led by Paladin Capital Group, with Khosla Ventures, LGVP and Entrepreneur First returning, and reported more than 570% ARR growth over 18 months and over 30 large enterprise customers in healthcare, logistics, financial services and manufacturing. Named customers include Goodyear, ClearBank and Hexaware. HFS Research rated its task-mining approach as fast to value in July 2025 but said the agent layer had no proof points yet.

Ideal Buyer

A head of business transformation or intelligent automation at a large enterprise who must decide which back-office processes to hand to AI agents and needs measured time data, not workshop estimates, to build the business case.

Key Benefit

A quantified, task-level map of how work is actually done, with an automation score and an agent blueprint for each high-volume process.

Key Features

  • ✓
    Capture (Miner) desktop recorder

Records clicks, keystrokes and screen actions across applications, so process data reflects real work instead of interview recollections.

  • ✓
    Map (Mapper) automatic process maps

Generates end-to-end process maps from recordings, exposing variants, exceptions and workarounds that written SOPs usually miss.

  • ✓
    Automation scoring and opportunity heatmap

Rates each workflow on frequency, structure and time spent, so teams fund the highest-ROI automation candidates first.

  • ✓
    Automate (Maker) agent builder

Builds AI agents directly from recorded process maps; Mimica claims agents can go live in as little as 24 hours.

  • ✓
    Agent blueprints and exports

Exports process maps, process definition documents and structured data that can feed an existing RPA, IDP or GenAI automation stack.

  • ✓
    Privacy controls

Automatic PII detection and anonymisation, employee pause and stop, and app or website exclusions reduce the privacy risk of recording staff.

  • ✓
    Post-deployment measurement

Tracks time saved, error rates and adoption against the pre-deployment baseline, so automation benefits can be reported with evidence.

✓agent orchestration

Use Cases

  • •
    Claims processing baseline

An insurer records its claims team's desktop work to find delay points; Mimica cites a Fortune 100 insurer saving $24M in productivity.

  • •
    Finance transformation

A finance organisation maps accounts payable and close processes; Mimica cites a Fortune 100 pharma firm finding 42,000 hours of potential savings.

  • •
    Agent readiness assessment

Before buying an agent platform, a transformation office scores which recorded workflows are structured enough for agents and which need humans.

  • •
    Process documentation at speed

A bank's engineering team maps how operations staff work in a few weeks, as ClearBank describes, instead of months of interviews.
