AI-native integrated business planning with Modeler and Analyst agents, AI-generated planning apps and an MCP server
Pigment is a cloud-based integrated business planning (enterprise performance management) platform whose AI agents build models, monitor metrics and generate planning apps from plain language. It is built for CFOs, FP&A leaders and operations teams that want finance, sales, HR and supply-chain plans in one governed model instead of spreadsheets or legacy EPM tools.
Pigment is a cloud-only integrated business planning platform, in the category analysts call enterprise performance management, that lets finance, sales, HR and supply-chain teams build governed multidimensional models, run scenarios and forecast against live data from ERP, CRM, HRIS and data-warehouse systems. Founded in Paris in 2019 by co-CEOs Eléonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli, it has raised nearly $400M, including a $145M Series D led by ICONIQ Growth in April 2024, and SiliconANGLE reports annual recurring revenue above $100M. Its AI layer has grown into a set of agents: the Modeler Agent, introduced in March, turns plain-English descriptions into dimensions, metrics, formulas and business logic; the Analyst Agent monitors metrics, flags anomalies and drafts reports; and a Planner Agent for scenario recommendations is listed as coming soon. On 10 September 2026 Pigment launched Frames, which generates dashboards, data-entry forms, scenario planners and full business apps from a prompt or even a whiteboard photo, routes them through a publishing workflow with verification checks, inherits existing access controls and is included at no extra charge. The same release added Agent Connectors that pull context from Notion, Google Drive and Slack, and what the company calls the first free trial of an EPM platform. A separate MCP server exposes governed models to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex under each user's permissions. Named customers include Unilever, Siemens, Uber, Figma, Danone and Supercell. It is positioned as the modern challenger to Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning and Planful, most often for mid-market and upper-mid-market finance teams.
A CFO or VP of FP&A at a mid-market or upper-mid-market company outgrowing spreadsheets or a legacy EPM tool, who wants finance, HR and sales plans in one governed model.
Faster planning cycles: models, dashboards and scenario apps generated from plain language instead of weeks of build work.

Capabilities
Use Cases
- •Rolling forecasts
Supercell reports cutting forecast updates from eight days to four minutes by running planning on live connected data.
- •Strategic planning cycles
Danone reports compressing its strategic planning work from two weeks to one day, an 80% time saving.
- •Interactive hiring plans
Glean used a Frame to turn static hiring analysis into a live app where leaders adjust hiring assumptions in real time.

In an Uber workshop, a photographed whiteboard sketch became a working Frame in about one hour instead of several weeks.

Ideal For
Best For
- ✓Mid-market and upper-mid-market FP&A teams replacing spreadsheets or Anaplan
- ✓High-growth companies whose planning models change frequently
- ✓Connected planning across finance, workforce, sales and supply chain on one model
- ✓Organisations that want governed planning data reachable from Claude or ChatGPT via MCP
Not Ideal For
- ✗Companies that need a primary financial close and consolidation platform; CFO Shortlist says Pigment is not suited to that role
- ✗Organisations that require on-premise or air-gapped deployment, since Pigment is cloud-only SaaS
- ✗Supply-chain teams looking for an optimisation engine that outputs operational decisions; Lokad rates it decision support rather than optimisation
- ✗Early-stage startups with tight budgets, given a Vendr median contract of about $74K a year before services

Market Analysis
Pros
- ✓Modern, AI-native interface that reviewers credit over older EPM suites
- ✓Faster implementations and lower total cost than Anaplan, per CFO Shortlist
- ✓Strong security posture: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, SAML SSO with SCIM, EU or US hosting and a SecNumCloud sovereign option
- ✓Coherent architecture where agents and apps sit on the same governed modeling core, per Lokad
- ✓Broad connector set across ERP, CRM, HRIS and data warehouses
Cons
- ✗Not suitable as a primary financial close or consolidation platform, per CFO Shortlist
- ✗Modeler Agent is early: CFO Shortlist estimates 50-70% accuracy with 20-30% manual refinement typically needed
- ✗Lokad finds the newest agentic and optimisation claims more ambitious than the publicly inspectable core, with the Planner Agent still roadmap-stage
- ✗Hidden costs: professional services at 20-50% of first-year subscription and mid-contract user true-ups near list price, per Vendr
- ✗Cloud-only, with a smaller partner ecosystem than Anaplan

Vendr's data on 31 deals shows a median of about $74K a year, ranging from roughly $34K to $168K, with professional services adding 20-50% of first-year subscription; CFO Shortlist estimates $200K-$400K a year for 100-200 users.
