Kanu
by Kanu AI
Enterprise AI platform that learns how your teams work and builds agents and apps inside your own AWS or Google Cloud
Kanu is an enterprise AI platform that captures how employees perform complex workflows and turns them into agents and role-specific apps that run inside the customer's own AWS or Google Cloud environment. It is aimed at commercial real estate, private equity, financial services and insurance firms that want AI automation without moving data to a vendor's cloud.
Kanu AI was founded in 2025 by Karan Grover, a machine learning engineer, Y Combinator alumnus and former Amazon and DoorDash engineer, and came out of stealth on October 1, 2026 with $11.7 million led by Trilogy Equity Partners, with a16z speedrun, BMW i Ventures and Accel participating. The platform works in three layers. A data layer connects the customer's systems, files and institutional knowledge; an intelligence layer captures the firm's context and judgment; and an output layer delivers finished work in the formats teams already use. Employees demonstrate a task and connect the tools involved, and Kanu builds the workflow into software: Agents that run repeatable processes end to end, reading documents and following the firm's process with people reviewing key decisions, and Apps that give each role purpose-built software. Kanu deploys inside the customer's AWS account or Google Cloud project, uses existing permissions, supports customer-managed model accounts and routes workflows across approved models. Each output can be opened to show what Kanu read and how it reached a result. It is sold through AWS Marketplace and Google Cloud Marketplace; the AWS listing is a bring-your-own-license container deployed via CloudFormation on ECS. Kanu says one unnamed national customer cut an analysis spanning PDFs, email, spreadsheets, CRM and mapping data from up to eight weeks to under 10 minutes, and that revenue has more than doubled each quarter since launch. The Next Web noted that these claims are unverified and that no pricing or revenue figures are disclosed. The company had 10 employees at launch.
COOs or CIOs at mid-size commercial real estate, private equity, insurance and financial services firms with analyst-heavy, document-driven workflows and strict data-residency expectations.
Custom agents and apps built from how your staff already work, running in your own cloud account with inspectable outputs.

Key Features
- ✓Workflow capture
Employees demonstrate how they do a task and connect their systems, and Kanu builds that process into software instead of a generic template.
- ✓Agents
Run repeatable workflows end to end by reading documents and following the firm's process, with human review on key decisions.
- ✓Role-specific Apps
Purpose-built software around each team's operations that can be updated across the organisation when the underlying workflow changes.
- ✓Deploys in your cloud
Runs inside your AWS account, Google Cloud project or private network using existing permissions, so data never leaves your environment.
- ✓Model-agnostic routing
Routes each workflow across approved models and supports customer-managed model accounts, avoiding lock-in to a single provider.
- ✓Inspectable outputs and run records
Each output shows the sources read and how it reached the result, plus a record of what ran, usage and cost.
Capabilities
Use Cases
- •Property and market analysis
A national real estate firm reportedly cut an analysis that pulled from PDFs, email, CRM and maps from eight weeks to under 10 minutes.
- •Replacing fragmented point tools
A firm consolidates several tools into Kanu-built apps; the same customer expects to cut software spend by over $1 million in 2026.
- •Document-heavy insurance workflows
An insurer turns a manual document review process into an agent that drafts outputs for underwriters to approve.
- •Governed AI rollout in regulated firms
A financial services firm deploys agents inside its own AWS account with its own model keys, keeping audit records of every run.
Ideal For
Best For
- ✓Commercial real estate teams assembling property analyses from PDFs, email, spreadsheets, CRM and mapping data
- ✓Insurance and financial services firms that must keep client data inside their own cloud
- ✓Private equity firms standardising repeatable deal or portfolio analysis workflows
- ✓Organisations that want model-agnostic automation using their own model accounts
Not Ideal For
- ✗Buyers who need a mature vendor with references and reviews: Kanu had 10 employees at launch, no named customers and zero marketplace reviews
- ✗Teams without a technical owner, since Kanu requires someone to handle cloud access, security and deployment in the customer's account
- ✗Companies on Azure or on-premises only, because documented deployment targets are AWS and Google Cloud
Deployment
Market Analysis
Pros
- ✓Data stays in the customer's own cloud under existing permissions, which eases security review
- ✓Model-agnostic, with customer-controlled model accounts and spend visibility
- ✓Outputs are inspectable, showing sources and reasoning, with human approval steps built in
- ✓Procurement through existing AWS and Google Cloud marketplace relationships
Cons
- ✗Very early: 10 employees at launch, founded in 2025, and no named customers
- ✗Headline results (eight weeks to 10 minutes, $1M software savings, revenue doubling quarterly) are company claims that The Next Web flagged as unverified
- ✗Positioning is inconsistent across sources: the AWS listing (version 0.0.5) describes an AI platform engineer for infrastructure scaffolding, while launch coverage describes workflow automation
- ✗No published pricing, no named security certifications and zero marketplace reviews
