Ideal For

Best For

  • ✓Federal program management offices tracking cost, schedule and compliance risk across many data sources
  • ✓Defense and intelligence teams that need fused spatial, temporal and document analysis in one view
  • ✓Agencies that want agentic AI running against existing systems without a large data migration
  • ✓Mission owners who need every AI answer traceable to source material for audit and oversight
  • ✓Acquisition and contracting teams monitoring compliance across large contract portfolios

Not Ideal For

  • ✗Buyers who need published pricing, a self-serve trial or a documented public API before evaluating; none were disclosed at the July 2026 launch
  • ✗Workloads that already require FedRAMP High today, since Peraton describes only FedRAMP Moderate compliance with a path to High
  • ✗Teams that require named reference customers, peer reviews or disclosed foundation models before shortlisting; none were public at launch
  • ✗Commercial firms seeking a low-touch SaaS analytics tool; Peraton positions the platform for national missions and critical government operations

Market Analysis

Enterprise-gradeGovernment and national securityAgentic AI platform

Pros

  • ✓Built by Peraton Labs, an R&D organization with Bell Labs heritage, inside a contractor with more than 18,000 employees (2024) serving DoD, DHS and the FAA
  • ✓Source-attributed, traceable outputs with built-in hallucination mitigation suit oversight-heavy government environments
  • ✓Connects to existing systems and data in place, which Peraton says takes hours to days rather than months of re-engineering
  • ✓Zero Trust architecture and FedRAMP Moderate compliance at launch, with a stated path to FedRAMP High
  • ✓Plain-English interaction lowers the skill barrier for program staff who are not AI specialists

Cons

  • ✗No named customers, pilots or deployments were disclosed at the July 2026 launch, and trade coverage (The Defense Post, IntelligentCIO) restated the press release without independent evaluation
  • ✗No public pricing, packaging or trial; the product page and launch release list no prices, so cost is only discoverable through direct engagement with Peraton
  • ✗Compliance is described as FedRAMP Moderate 'compliant' with only a 'path to' FedRAMP High, which falls short for workloads that already require High
  • ✗Underlying foundation models and third-party integrations are not disclosed, making model-risk and supply-chain review harder for security teams
  • ✗No practitioner reviews found on review sites or Hacker News as of September 2026; marketing claims such as 'superhuman reasoning' and 'first true enterprise agentic AI platform' are unverified

Peraton[x] is an agentic AI platform from federal contractor Peraton, launched in July 2026, that pulls documents, schedules, contracts, spreadsheets and geospatial feeds into one operational view that staff query in plain English. It targets government program offices and mission teams that need traceable risk, schedule and compliance insight without migrating data.

Peraton[x] is an agentic AI platform from Peraton, the privately held Reston, Virginia national security contractor formed in 2017 when Veritas Capital bought Harris Corporation's government IT services business. Peraton announced it on July 7, 2026, positioning it for the nation's most critical operations and missions; it was developed by Peraton Labs, the company's Basking Ridge, New Jersey research arm with Bell Labs heritage. The platform ingests structured and unstructured enterprise data, including documents, schedules, contracts, spreadsheets, video, audio and geospatial feeds, through what Peraton calls a dynamic ontology engine, and lets non-technical staff query and program it in plain English. Its advertised functions are predictive intelligence that flags anomalies and forecasts failures, continuous risk assessment across cost, schedule, compliance, workforce and supply chain, fused spatial and temporal analysis, enterprise digital twins for testing decisions before making them, and autonomous agents that coordinate workflows without manual handoffs. The launch included an AI-powered program management office (PMO) suite covering acquisition planning, real-time variance detection, schedule intelligence and compliance monitoring. Peraton says every assertion is source-attributed and traceable, that it activates against existing systems without a large data migration, and that it is built on Zero Trust controls and is FedRAMP Moderate compliant with a path to FedRAMP High. It followed Peraton's May 2026 launch of IRIS, an AI decision-support system. At launch no customers, pilots, pricing or underlying foundation models were disclosed, and trade coverage from ExecutiveBiz, The Defense Post and IntelligentCIO repeated the announcement without independent evaluation. It enters a federal agentic-AI market alongside Palantir AIP and Scale AI's Donovan.

Ideal Buyer

Federal program executives and mission CIOs who need AI-driven risk, schedule and compliance insight across scattered documents and systems, with answers traceable enough for oversight and audit.

Key Benefit

One plain-English operational view of program risk built from existing data in place, with every answer traceable to its source.

Key Features

  • ✓
    Dynamic ontology engine

Interprets documents, schedules, contracts, video, audio and geospatial feeds in place, so agencies avoid a lengthy data-migration project before getting answers.

  • ✓
    Plain-English interaction

Non-technical program staff query and program the platform in plain English, removing the need for specialist AI expertise or custom code for each question.

  • ✓
    Continuous risk assessment

Always-on scanning across cost, schedule, compliance, workforce and supply chain dimensions flags emerging program risks continuously rather than at periodic reporting cycles.

  • ✓
    Enterprise digital twins

Builds live models of projects and operations across time and location so leaders can run scenarios and test decisions before committing to them.

  • ✓
    Source-attributed, explainable outputs

Every assertion is traced back to its source material, with automatic verification and hallucination mitigation, so analysts can audit an answer before acting on it.

  • ✓
    AI-powered PMO suite

Packaged program-management application covering acquisition planning, real-time variance detection, schedule intelligence, compliance monitoring and workforce optimization for program offices.

  • ✓
    Agent-orchestrated operations

Autonomous agents coordinate workflows without manual handoffs, which is intended to reduce the coordination overhead that slows large, multi-team government programs.

  • ✓
    Zero Trust security

Built on Zero Trust architecture with multi-factor authentication, end-to-end encryption and role-based access control, and described as FedRAMP Moderate compliant.

Capabilities

✓text generation
✗image generation
✗video generation
✗code generation
✓workflow automation
✗api access
✗audio generation
✗fine tuning
✓agent orchestration

Use Cases

  • •
    Program management office oversight

A defense or civilian program office connects schedules, contracts and status reports so staff can ask in plain English which milestones are slipping and why.

  • •
    Acquisition and compliance monitoring

Acquisition teams use continuous compliance monitoring and acquisition planning tools to spot contract or regulatory issues earlier, with each finding traceable to its source document.

  • •
    Intelligence and situational awareness

Mission analysts fuse geospatial feeds, event data and schedules to see converging conditions in one operational view rather than across several disconnected systems.

  • •
    Financial forecasting and scenario planning

Leadership uses enterprise digital twins and predictive intelligence to model budget, workforce or supply-chain scenarios and test a decision before committing resources to it.

  • •
    Document analysis at scale

Teams facing large volumes of reports, contracts and spreadsheets ask questions across the whole corpus and receive source-attributed answers instead of manual review.
