Profound
by Profound (Cooper Square Technologies Inc.)
AI search visibility platform that shows how ChatGPT, Gemini and other answer engines describe your brand, with agents to improve it
Profound is an AI search visibility and answer-engine optimization (AEO) platform for enterprise marketing teams. It tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Claude and other answer engines mention, cite and rank a brand against its competitors, then uses its AI Marketer agents to plan and produce the content that improves that visibility.
Profound, founded in 2024 and based in New York, builds software that measures and improves how brands appear in AI-generated answers, the discipline now called answer-engine or generative-engine optimization (AEO/GEO). Its Answer Engine Insights module tracks what AI systems say about a category and how often a brand is mentioned, cited and ranked against competitors; Prompt Volumes estimates what people actually ask answer engines, drawing on what the company says is more than two billion real user prompts; Agent Analytics shows how AI crawlers and agents view, cite and refer traffic to a site's pages; and a Shopping module gives SKU-level visibility inside ChatGPT Shopping. On top of that measurement layer sits AI Marketer, an agent product backed by a Context Manager that keeps brand positioning current and by specialised agents such as Thought Leader and FactCheck, plus Ads Studio for AI-search advertising, launched in June 2026. The Enterprise tier tracks up to nine engines daily (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa) and adds API access, CSV/JSON exports, SSO/SAML and SOC 2 assurances. On September 15, 2026 Profound raised a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation, co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins, less than seven months after a $96 million Series C, taking total funding past $335 million. It reports more than 1,000 enterprise brands as customers, including a third of the Fortune 100, with named users such as Walmart, Comcast, The Estee Lauder Companies, Zoom, ServiceNow, Figma, MongoDB and Ramp. It has not disclosed revenue, and the category it leads is still young.
Enterprise SEO, content and demand-generation leaders who must report on and grow brand share-of-voice in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews across many engines and markets.
A daily, competitor-benchmarked measure of how answer engines describe and cite your brand, plus agents that turn the gaps into content.
