LightOn Suite is an enterprise document-intelligence platform from Paris-based LightOn that indexes a company's documents into one governed knowledge base (LightOn Core) and lets teams build search, extraction and comparison apps on it (LightOn Apps). It is aimed at European organisations in finance, industry and the public sector that need AI over sensitive data without leaving EU infrastructure.

LightOn Suite went on sale on October 13, 2026 from LightOn, a Paris company founded in 2016 and listed on Euronext Growth Paris since November 2024 (ticker ALTAI). The suite has two layers. LightOn Core reads, structures and indexes documents in any format into a shared knowledge base that keeps existing access rights, traces each answer to its source document and updates as files change. LightOn Apps sits on Core and lets teams assemble business applications such as internal search, contract clause comparison, supplier offer analysis, data extraction from complex files and operational report monitoring, either from components or from a catalogue of use cases. A governance layer controls who can publish apps and which tools and models are allowed, and tracks adoption, usage and cost by team and application with budgets and caps. Core's ingestion engine is LightOnOCR-3, an Apache 2.0 open-weight model family in 0.8B and 4B sizes released on October 8, 2026, which LightOn says ranks second on OlmOCR-Bench behind a model eight times larger and first on the French FRBench-pdf2md. LightOn builds the retrieval models (its earlier work includes ModernBERT), while customers choose generation models from Scaleway-hosted open models, Mistral, Anthropic or OpenAI. The suite runs on Scaleway in France as SaaS, as a Managed VPC run by LightOn, or in the customer's own cloud. LightOn's earlier on-premises platform, Paradigm, counted Safran, the Ile-de-France region, Groupama and CNES among its customers.

Ideal Buyer

AI platform and knowledge-management leads at European banks, insurers, industrial firms and public bodies that must keep document AI on EU-hosted, isolated infrastructure.

Key Benefit

One permission-aware, source-traced knowledge base over company documents that several governed business apps can share, hosted in France.

Key Features

  • ✓
    LightOn Core knowledge base

Ingests and indexes documents of any format into one shared base that respects existing access rights and cites source documents.

  • ✓
    LightOn Apps

Builds business apps such as search, clause comparison, extraction and report monitoring from components or a catalogue, all reusing the same Core.

  • ✓
    Governance and cost controls

Admins set publishing rights and allowed models and tools, and track usage and cost per team and app with budgets and caps.

  • ✓
    LightOnOCR-3 ingestion

Apache 2.0 OCR models in 0.8B and 4B sizes read text, layout, charts and handwriting in one pass, and can also be self-hosted.

  • ✓
    Model choice

Generation can use Scaleway-hosted open models in Europe or models from Mistral, Anthropic and OpenAI, so buyers trade sovereignty against capability per app.

  • ✓
    Sovereign deployment options

Available as SaaS, Managed VPC on Scaleway's French infrastructure or bring-your-own-cloud, for organisations that require full data isolation.

Capabilities

✓text generation
✗image generation
✗video generation
✗code generation
✓workflow automation
✓api access
✗audio generation
✗fine tuning
✗agent orchestration

Use Cases

  • •
    Contract clause comparison

Legal and procurement teams compare clauses across many contracts against a reference, with each finding traced to the source document.

  • •
    Supplier offer analysis

Buyers extract and line up terms from supplier responses so evaluation committees compare offers on the same structured fields.

  • •
    Handwritten form processing

Administrative teams digitise handwritten and scanned forms with LightOnOCR-3, which LightOn says gains most on handwriting in French documents.

  • •
    Operational report monitoring

Operations teams set apps to watch recurring reports and surface changes, using the same governed knowledge base as search.
