FlowAI is the agentic layer of the Itential Platform. It lets network and infrastructure teams build AI agents that reason over live device and ticket data, then act only by calling pre-approved Itential workflows, with RBAC, approval gates and a full audit trail on every step.
Itential FlowAI adds AI agents to the Itential Platform, an orchestration product used by network and infrastructure teams. Itential announced FlowAI on November 19, 2025 as a private customer preview made up of four parts: FlowAgent Builder (an application for defining role-based agents, their reasoning style and the exact tools they may call), FlowAgents (the task-oriented agents themselves), FlowMCP Gateway (an extension of Itential Automation Gateway that calls external infrastructure agents and Model Context Protocol tools) and FlowMCP Server (an enterprise build of the MCP server for managing multiple MCP instances with personas and access controls). Itential announced general availability effective July 1, 2026, after a six-month validation program with six enterprises including Lumen Technologies. The design keeps agents away from devices: a FlowAgent runs a ReAct-style loop over live inventory, configuration and ticket context, but every change goes through Itential's deterministic workflow engine, which applies RBAC, approval gates, pre/post validation and logging. Tool scope is fixed when the agent is built, so an agent built to read cannot be prompted into deleting, and credentials stay on adapters and gateway services instead of in the agent. Customers can bring their own LLM (Itential names Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini) through LLM Provider Profiles or use an Itential-provided model. Existing Ansible playbooks, Python scripts and OpenTofu plans become callable tools. The separately open-sourced Itential MCP Server (GPL-3.0) lets outside assistants call platform workflows. FlowAI is included in every Itential Platform tier and is priced by monthly agent runs, with no per-device or per-seat charge.

Itential prices by monthly agent runs (one run is one complete agent session) and tier, never by device, node or user seat, and every tier includes unlimited users. FlowAI is included in all tiers with no separate add-on fee. The only public list prices are the AWS Marketplace Essentials SKUs: $85,500 per year with your own LLM or $102,600 per year with Itential's, on 12, 24 or 36-month contracts. Itential's own pricing page lists Essentials, Compliance, Scale, Enterprise and Custom tiers without dollar figures. For on-prem deployments FlowAI is an add-on licensed per production server with no monthly run limit.
