Integration infrastructure that lets AI agents read and write in customer CRMs and ERPs
Ampersand is integration infrastructure for software companies whose AI products must read from and write to each customer's CRM or ERP. Engineering teams declare integrations in YAML, and Ampersand runs auth, sync, retries and per-customer field mapping, so custom Salesforce or NetSuite setups stop consuming engineering time.
Ampersand is a San Francisco company that sells integration infrastructure to software vendors, including AI-native application builders, that need deep two-way connections to their customers' systems of record. Developers describe each integration in an amp.yaml manifest: the target system, the objects and fields to read or write, and the options a customer may configure. A managed runtime then tracks every customer's configuration and handles authentication, scheduling, retries, rate limits and provider errors. Five action types cover the work: read (backfills and incremental syncs), write, subscribe (notifications on creates, updates and deletes), search and proxy (direct calls to any provider endpoint). A developer defines a field such as renewalDate once, and each customer maps it to their own field during setup through embeddable UI components, a headless library or the REST API. Ampersand claims more than 200 managed connectors, naming Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, ServiceNow and Snowflake among them. For agents, an MIT-licensed AI SDK exposes integrations as tools for the Vercel AI SDK and Mastra, alongside an MCP server. On October 6, 2026 the company announced a $15 million Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners and a beta of Andi, an AI integration agent that helps developers implement integrations in each customer's environment. Its site shows logos including Square, Yelp, 11x, Orb and Crunchbase. It competes with embedded iPaaS products and unified APIs, and argues that both handle per-customer customization poorly.

Key Features
- ✓Declarative amp.yaml manifest
Defines the system, objects, fields and customer options in a YAML file, so integrations can be reviewed and deployed through the Ampersand CLI.
- ✓Per-customer field mapping
Lets each end customer map a shared field to their own custom field during setup, and Ampersand translates between the two at runtime.
- ✓Read, write, subscribe, search and proxy actions
Covers backfills, incremental syncs, writes, change notifications, filtered searches and direct provider calls, giving agents two-way access to systems of record.
- ✓Embeddable setup UI
Provides prebuilt components, a headless library or a REST API so customers connect and configure their own systems with less implementation support.
- ✓AI SDK and MCP server
Exposes integrations as agent tools through MIT-licensed packages for the Vercel AI SDK and Mastra, plus an MCP server for clients such as Cursor.
- ✓Andi integration agent (beta)
An AI agent announced in beta in October 2026 that helps developers implement integrations in each customer's environment; it is listed on Growth and Enterprise plans.
- ✓Per-tenant isolation and token control
Isolates each customer's integration environment and lets vendors keep programmatic access to OAuth credentials and tokens, which limits lock-in if they migrate.
Capabilities
Use Cases
- •AI sales agents writing to CRM
An AI sales product reads account data and writes activity back to each customer's Salesforce instance, including custom objects and fields.
- •Usage billing tied to ERP close
A billing vendor such as Orb connects credit-based pricing data to a customer's NetSuite accounting close without building a separate connector.
- •Reaching customers with complex systems
Hatch, an AI communications platform for service businesses, used Ampersand to serve customers with complex integration requirements it could not previously reach.
- •Replacing an in-house connector team
A vendor moves customer-specific connectors onto the managed runtime, so retries, rate limits and provider errors no longer generate support calls for its engineers.
Ideal For
Best For
- ✓AI agent vendors that need write access to each customer's Salesforce or HubSpot instance
- ✓SaaS teams whose enterprise deals stall on NetSuite or Sage Intacct integration requirements
- ✓Products that must map custom objects and fields separately for every customer
- ✓Engineering teams that prefer integrations defined as code in version control over a visual builder
Not Ideal For
- ✗Internal IT teams automating their own workflows, since Ampersand is built for vendors embedding integrations in a product they sell
- ✗Teams that require full self-hosting on a smaller budget, since BYOC and self-hosted options sit in the Enterprise tier, and Ampersand's own comparison page points such buyers to Nango
- ✗Teams that only need OAuth, a token vault and shallow proxy access to many providers, a case Ampersand's comparison page also concedes to Nango

Market Analysis
Pros
- ✓Handles custom fields and objects per customer, which is where agent deployments into CRMs and ERPs tend to stall
- ✓Vendor lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA, plus on-prem and EU options on the Enterprise tier
- ✓Vendors keep access to OAuth tokens, and connectors and the AI SDK are MIT licensed
- ✓Pricing meters successful actions, and Growth and Enterprise customers can request new connectors from Ampersand
Cons
- ✗No dollar prices are published, so budgeting requires a sales proposal, and overage rates appear only there
- ✗Andi is still in beta, and Pulse 2.0's coverage of the Series A names only one customer, Hatch
- ✗Little independent practitioner evidence exists: the only Hacker News story found is a 2023 Show HN with 6 points and 2 comments, and most comparison material is written by Ampersand
- ✗Open-source traction is small, with 81 GitHub stars on the connectors repo and 12 on the AI SDK as of November 2, 2026
- ✗Self-hosting and EU data residency require the Enterprise tier

Ampersand publishes three tiers but no dollar prices (checked November 2, 2026). Each plan includes a volume of metered actions, where one action is a delivered read batch, successful write, delivered event, executed search or proxy call. Overage rates appear only in a proposal. BYOC, self-hosting and EU data residency are Enterprise only.
