WebSci'27 (19th ACM Web Science Conference)
by ACM SIGWEB and the Web Science Trust
ACM's Web science conference, May 25-28 2027 in Singapore, with AI agents and large models on the Web in its call.
About This Event
WebSci'27, the 19th ACM Web Science Conference, runs May 25-28, 2027 at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House on the National University of Singapore campus. It is the ACM venue for research on how the Web and society shape each other, and the 2027 call puts artificial intelligence at the center: AI agents and automation across Web contexts, the spread of large models on the Web, accountability of the AI industry, bot behavior, fake content detection, and Web-based information retrieval and generation. Submissions are full papers (6-10 pages) or short papers (up to 5 pages) under double-blind review, with best papers invited to a special issue of ACM Transactions on Social Computing. The program chairs are Jurgen Pfeffer (TU Munich), Jussara M. Almeida (Federal University of Minas Gerais) and Subhayan Mukerjee (NUS).

Topics & Focus Areas
Who Should Attend
- ✓Computational social scientists
- ✓AI and machine learning researchers
- ✓Trust and safety leaders
- ✓Platform policy and governance teams
- ✓Information retrieval and recommender system researchers
- ✓Graduate students
Why Attend
If you run a platform, a trust and safety function or a team shipping AI agents that act on the open Web, WebSci is where the measurement research on those systems gets presented: how bots behave, how fake content spreads, how recommendation shapes exposure and who is held accountable when large models misbehave. The papers here tend to become the evidence regulators and auditors cite. Sending a policy lead and a data scientist gives you early sight of that work and of the NUS and ACM research groups producing it.
Event Features
- ✓Research call on automation and AI across Web contexts, including AI agents and the spread of large models
- ✓Legal and policy track topics: rights and accountability for the AI industry
- ✓Misinformation, fact-checking, bots and anomaly detection in Web data
- ✓Information retrieval, recommendation engines and user modeling
- ✓Workshop and tutorial program (proposals due November 15, 2026)
- ✓Full and short paper tracks with open-access ACM proceedings
What Makes This Unique
- ★Interdisciplinary by design: the call asks for quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods work, so computer scientists and social scientists review each other.
- ★The 2027 call names AI agents, large models on the Web and rights and accountability for the AI industry as topics.
- ★Best papers are invited to a special issue of ACM Transactions on Social Computing.
- ★Hosted on the National University of Singapore campus, with limited student travel funding from SIGWEB and WebIST.
