About This Event

ACM/IEEE ICCAD 2026, the International Conference on Computer-Aided Design, runs 8-12 November 2026 at the San Jose Marriott in San Jose, California. Jointly sponsored by ACM and IEEE — with IEEE CEDA and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society behind it — ICCAD describes itself as the premier forum to explore new challenges and identify emerging technologies in electronic design automation, covering the full range of CAD topics from device and circuit level up through system level as well as post-CMOS design. Machine learning applied to chip design now runs through the whole programme. The 2026 keynote slate is Paul Cunningham of Cadence, Vaughn Betz of the University of Toronto and Cerebras Systems, Ralph Wittig of AMD, and Chia-Lin Yang of National Taiwan University, alongside workshops, special sessions, panels, tutorials and research competitions.

Who Should Attend

  • Silicon design leaders
  • EDA engineers
  • Hardware architects
  • CTOs at semiconductor companies
  • Verification engineers
  • AI hardware product managers
  • Academic CAD researchers

Why Attend

ICCAD is where the tooling that determines how fast anyone can ship an AI chip gets argued about, and in San Jose the attendee list is effectively the EDA supply chain itself. For a hardware or platform executive the value is a direct read on how much of chip design machine learning is genuinely automating, and how quickly — which sets the real ceiling on any custom-accelerator programme and on the schedules your silicon partners are quoting. The keynotes from Cadence, AMD and Cerebras put three different layers of that stack on one stage in one week, and the panels are where roadmap disagreements surface in public.

Event Features

  • Keynote from Paul Cunningham, Cadence
  • Keynote from Ralph Wittig, AMD
  • Keynote from Vaughn Betz, University of Toronto and Cerebras Systems
  • Keynote from Chia-Lin Yang, National Taiwan University
  • Main regular paper track spanning device, circuit and system-level CAD
  • Workshops, special sessions, panels and tutorials
  • CAD research competitions

What Makes This Unique

  • The premier EDA research conference, jointly sponsored by ACM and IEEE through IEEE CEDA and IEEE CASS
  • Held in San Jose, inside the home market of the EDA and semiconductor industry it serves
  • Covers post-CMOS and emerging-device design, not only current-node production flows
  • Industry keynotes from a tool vendor, a merchant chip designer and an AI-silicon startup in the same programme as peer-reviewed papers
  • CAD contests put competing design-automation approaches on identical benchmark problems
