AI app builder for web and mobile apps: describe it to the Bubble AI Agent, then edit visually without code
Bubble is a visual, no-code platform for building and hosting web and mobile apps, now driven by an AI agent that builds features from prompts. It suits founders, product teams and internal-tools builders who need a full app with database, logic and hosting but do not want to run a codebase.
Bubble is a visual development platform from Bubble Group, Inc., founded in 2012 in New York by Emmanuel Straschnov and Josh Haas, that bundles the front end, database, workflow logic and hosting for web and mobile apps. The company says about 6 million apps have been built on it, by users in 104 countries. It raised a $100M Series A led by Insight Partners in July 2021, after a 2019 seed led by SignalFire. On October 6, 2026 Bubble released Agent 2, a rebuilt Bubble AI Agent that is out of beta for every app, including existing ones. Bubble says Agent 2 is 1.5 times better at building what was asked and twice as good at producing fully working results; it runs Bubble's issue checker in the background, handles larger edits such as adding a feature to an established app, and sits beside an in-editor preview where a builder can click an element to focus the agent or run the app as a specific user. The same release added Bubble MCP in beta, which lets builders drive Bubble from their own agent such as Claude Code or Codex. MCP use does not consume Bubble AI credits, but it cannot read logs, merge branches or deploy. AI credits are metered per app, from 500 a month on Free to 4,000 on Team. Bubble hosts on AWS, reports SOC 2 Type II compliance and offers a GDPR DPA, and Enterprise adds SSO provisioning and a dedicated AWS instance in a chosen region. Reviewers consistently cite no source-code export and hard-to-forecast workload-unit costs as the main trade-offs.
Product or innovation lead who needs a working customer-facing or internal app with real data and logic, and has no engineering team to own a codebase
Prompt the agent to build a feature, then refine it in a visual editor, with database, logic and hosting included in one platform

Key Features
- ✓Bubble AI Agent (Agent 2)
Builds and edits pages, workflows and data from prompts, checking its own output with the issue checker while it builds.
- ✓Bubble MCP (beta)
Connects external agents such as Claude Code or Codex to a Bubble app, and its use does not consume Bubble AI credits.
- ✓In-editor preview
Preview runs as an editor tab beside the agent, so builders can click an element and ask for a targeted change.
- ✓Visual editor with built-in database
Front end, database and workflow logic live in one visual editor, so there is no separate backend to provision.
- ✓Managed hosting on AWS
Apps are hosted and scaled by Bubble on AWS, with Enterprise able to buy a dedicated instance in a chosen region.
- ✓Web and mobile apps
The same platform and agent build both web apps and native mobile apps, with mobile plans priced separately.
Capabilities
Use Cases
- •MVP for a new product
A founder describes the app to the agent, refines it visually and launches on a custom domain without hiring developers first.
- •Internal operations portal
A business team builds a request-tracking portal with its own database and role-based logic, owned and changed without engineering tickets.
- •Ticket-to-feature with an external agent
An engineer connects Claude Code through Bubble MCP to turn a Linear or Jira ticket into a feature in the Bubble app.
- •Importing an app from another AI builder
A team moves an app prototyped in another AI tool into Bubble through the MCP import path to get hosting and a visual editor.
Ideal For
Best For
- ✓B2B SaaS products with complex workflows and modest traffic
- ✓Internal tools and portals where a business team owns the app without engineers
- ✓Founders validating a product with a live app before hiring developers
- ✓Teams that want to drive app changes from Claude Code or Codex through Bubble MCP while keeping a visual editor
Not Ideal For
- ✗High-traffic or spiky consumer apps, where reviewers report performance strain and unpredictable workload-unit bills
- ✗Organisations that require source-code ownership or an exit path; Bubble has no code export, so leaving means a rebuild
- ✗Teams that need many editors on a small budget, since paid plans cap editors at 1, 1, 2 or 5 seats per Jet Admin's plan comparison
Deployment
Market Analysis
Pros
- ✓Reviewers credit Bubble with more design freedom and logic depth than comparable no-code platforms
- ✓Agent 2 is generally available on every plan, including Free, with included AI credits
- ✓SOC 2 Type II, GDPR DPA and an Enterprise option for a dedicated AWS instance in a chosen region
- ✓MCP lets technical builders bring their own agent and model without paying Bubble credits
Cons
- ✗No source-code export: Jet Admin and other reviewers note that leaving Bubble means rebuilding the app
- ✗Workload-unit costs are hard to forecast, and Jet Admin cites a reported overage bill in the thousands after a traffic spike
- ✗Early MCP users on the Bubble forum hit Cursor auth errors and agent context truncation, and Safari support for the agent is still in progress
- ✗Steep learning curve and slower pages on heavy queries and dashboards, per 2026 reviews

Bubble meters two things: workload units for server activity and, since October 2026, AI credits for agent building and image generation. Web & Mobile plans run $59, $209 and $549 a month billed annually; the web-only Starter rose on October 20, 2026 to $39 monthly or $32 annually. Overages on workload units are optional on paid plans and reviewers say they are hard to forecast. MCP use draws no AI credits; purchased credits last six months.
