About This Event

SupercomputingAsia 2027 (SCA2027) runs 1-4 March 2027 in Singapore, returning to the city after SCA/HPCAsia 2026 in Osaka, Japan. SCA is the Asia-Pacific region's umbrella conference for high-performance computing, and it is co-organised by national HPC centres across four countries — NSCC in Singapore, RIKEN and RIST in Japan, Pawsey and NCI in Australia, and ThaiSC in Thailand — which is what separates it from a single-country supercomputing show. NSCC says the 2027 edition will broaden perspectives, deepen technical discourse and create more opportunities for collaboration across the HPC, AI and quantum ecosystems. Calls are open for papers, workshops, tutorials, birds-of-a-feather sessions and posters. The venue, detailed programme, keynote line-up and registration rates have not yet been published.

Why Attend

For a CTO or head of research computing in Asia-Pacific, SCA is the one week when the region's national supercomputing centres, their procurement roadmaps and their AI-infrastructure plans are all in the same building. That matters if you are sizing GPU capacity, negotiating access to national compute, or testing whether sovereign HPC is a credible alternative to a hyperscaler contract. The co-organising structure across Singapore, Japan, Australia and Thailand is where cross-border research partnerships and data-movement arrangements actually get made, and the tutorial and birds-of-a-feather format gives engineering staff direct access to the people who run the machines.

Event Features

  • Call for papers
  • Call for workshops
  • Call for tutorials
  • Call for birds-of-a-feather (BoF) proposals
  • Call for posters
  • Programme streams spanning HPC, AI and quantum computing

What Makes This Unique

  • Co-organised by six national HPC centres across four countries (NSCC Singapore, RIKEN, RIST, Pawsey, NCI, ThaiSC) rather than run by one organisation or a vendor.
  • The series rotates around Asia-Pacific — Osaka in 2026, Singapore in 2027 — so the hosting centre reshapes the agenda each year.
  • Treats HPC, AI and quantum as one ecosystem instead of bolting an AI track onto a supercomputing show.
  • The programme is built from open calls for papers, workshops, tutorials, BoFs and posters, so it is community-submitted rather than sponsor-curated.
