RSS 2027 — Robotics: Science and Systems
by Robotics: Science and Systems Foundation
The single-track robotics conference, in Athens
About This Event
RSS 2027, Robotics: Science and Systems, takes place 6-11 July 2027 in Athens, Greece. RSS is the field's deliberately single-track conference: every attendee sees every paper, in a focused week of presentations, poster sessions, workshops and tutorials, and the format is a stated principle rather than a scheduling accident — the volunteer-run RSS Foundation holds that an open, high-quality, single-track conference is essential to an active scientific discipline. Papers are capped at eight pages excluding references and go through double-blind review with a rebuttal round for a subset of submissions, and all proceedings are published free of charge on the RSS proceedings site. The programme also carries the RSS Pioneers early-career workshop, Pathways@RSS, keynotes, sponsor demonstrations and the Test of Time award.

Topics & Focus Areas
Who Should Attend
- ✓Heads of robotics and autonomy
- ✓Robot learning and embodied AI researchers
- ✓Manufacturing and warehouse automation leaders
- ✓Autonomous vehicle engineering leads
- ✓Robotics startup founders and CTOs
- ✓Technical recruiters hiring robotics talent
Why Attend
Robot learning is the part of AI moving fastest from paper to warehouse floor, and RSS is the venue where the credible work lands first — single-track, heavily filtered, and open-access so you can check the claims before committing. For a head of automation or an autonomy CTO the value is triage: one week tells you which manipulation, perception and embodied-AI approaches are real enough to pilot in 2028 and which are still demos, plus direct access to the small pool of people who can build them. The Pioneers programme is also the field's cleanest recruiting signal.
Event Features
- ✓Single-track paper sessions covering the full programme
- ✓Poster sessions alongside the oral track
- ✓Workshops and expert tutorials
- ✓RSS Pioneers — the invitation-based early-career researcher workshop
- ✓Pathways@RSS programme
- ✓Keynote talks, sponsor demonstrations and the Test of Time award
What Makes This Unique
- ★Strictly single-track by design — the RSS Foundation treats an open, high-quality, single-track conference as a requirement of a healthy discipline, so there is no parallel-session triage and everyone shares the same reference programme
- ★Double-blind review with a rebuttal round for a subset of papers, and an eight-page limit that forces contribution over volume — RSS is among the most selective robotics venues
- ★All proceedings are free to read on the RSS proceedings site, so the work is verifiable before you book travel
- ★Run by volunteers from the robotics community through a non-profit foundation rather than a commercial organiser or a single society
