IEEE SSCI 2027 — IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence
by IEEE Computational Intelligence Society
Ten applied AI and computational intelligence symposia, from health and finance to trustworthy AI, on Australia's Gold Coast
About This Event
IEEE SSCI 2027, the IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence, takes place 14–17 February 2027 on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is sponsored by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society with Griffith University and the University of Technology Sydney. It runs ten symposia that apply computational intelligence and AI to energy, transport and environmental sustainability; engineering and cyber-physical systems; image, signal processing and synthetic media; artificial life; security, defence and biometrics; health and medicine; financial engineering; natural language processing and social media; and trustworthy, explainable and responsible AI, plus multidisciplinary incubator special sessions. The 2027 edition continues SSCI's restructured format of dedicated applied symposia, with plenary and keynote talks, panels, workshops, tutorials, competitions and industry engagement, and supports remote presentation alongside in-person attendance. General chairs are Alan Liew (Griffith University) and Chin-Teng Lin (UTS).

Topics & Focus Areas
Who Should Attend
- ✓AI and computational intelligence researchers
- ✓Applied machine learning engineers
- ✓Heads of AI in energy, health and finance
- ✓Government and defence technology leaders
- ✓Responsible-AI and governance leads
- ✓PhD students
Why Attend
SSCI is organised by application domain, which makes it unusually efficient for a technology leader. An energy, health, finance or security executive can spend the week in the symposium that matches their sector and still reach the dedicated trustworthy, explainable and responsible AI track. Industry and government chairs from CSIRO and OpenAI signal a programme aimed beyond academia, and co-hosts Griffith University and UTS give direct access to Australia's applied-AI research groups for partnerships and hiring.
