ICCV 2029 — IEEE/CVF International Conference on Computer Vision
by Computer Vision Foundation (CVF), sponsored by IEEE
The world's premier computer vision conference comes to the Middle East for the first time
About This Event
ICCV 2029, the IEEE/CVF International Conference on Computer Vision, runs 2–6 December 2029 at the Dubai World Trade Centre — the first time the field's premier biennial gathering has been held anywhere in the Middle East. Dubai's winning bid was announced on 2 July 2024 by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, following a steering-committee vote taken after CVPR 2024 in Seattle. UAE organisers expect more than 15,000 researchers, engineers and industry attendees and roughly 3,000 scientific submissions. The four general chairs are Tinne Tuytelaars (KU Leuven), Ivan Laptev (MBZUAI), Marc Pollefeys (ETH Zurich) and Philip Torr (University of Oxford). ICCV runs in odd years only, alternating with CVPR, and is organised by the Computer Vision Foundation under IEEE sponsorship with open-access proceedings.

Who Should Attend
- ✓Computer vision researchers
- ✓ML engineers and applied scientists
- ✓CTOs and VPs of Engineering
- ✓Heads of AI/ML
- ✓Robotics and autonomy leads
- ✓AI product leaders
- ✓Research recruiting teams
Why Attend
Computer vision is where enterprise AI meets physical operations — inspection, logistics, autonomous systems, medical imaging, retail analytics and physical security. ICCV is where the methods those products will ship two or three years later are first published, and its poster sessions are the most efficient specialist recruiting channel in the field. For a CTO or VP of engineering, a Dubai edition also compresses travel: it puts the Gulf's sovereign AI programmes, MBZUAI, and European and Asian research groups in one hall, making a single trip serve partnership scouting, hiring and roadmap validation that would otherwise take three.
Event Features
- ✓Main technical programme of peer-reviewed oral and poster sessions selected by the Computer Vision Foundation
- ✓Open-access proceedings published free of charge by the CVF
- ✓Industry exhibition alongside the technical programme
- ✓General chairs drawn from KU Leuven, MBZUAI, ETH Zurich and the University of Oxford
- ✓Hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the emirate's principal convention complex
What Makes This Unique
- ★The first ICCV ever held in the Middle East — Dubai won the host-city bid in a steering-committee vote taken after CVPR 2024 in Seattle.
- ★Biennial: ICCV runs only in odd years, alternating with CVPR, so 2029 is the single ICCV of that cycle.
- ★A peer-reviewed research conference rather than a vendor expo — the programme is selected by the Computer Vision Foundation from open submissions and the proceedings are published free of charge.
- ★UAE organisers project more than 15,000 attendees and around 3,000 scientific submissions, which would place it among the largest ICCV editions on record.
