Fintech Nexus: Bridging the World, Building the Future
About This Event
Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK 2026 runs 2-6 November 2026, with the main conference on 2-3 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai and a week of satellite, community and networking events across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, including an AI in GBA Forum held in Shenzhen on 4 November. The 2026 theme is 'Fintech Nexus: Bridging the World, Building the Future'. It is convened by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and InvestHK, co-organised with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission and the Insurance Authority, and produced by Finoverse with support from the Hong Kong FinTech Association and StartmeupHK. Organisers expect more than 45,000 attendees from 120-plus economies, 1,000-plus speakers and 800-plus sponsors, exhibitors and startups, with around 60% of attendees C-suite or senior decision-makers. Eleven parallel forums run across the main conference, four of them explicitly AI-focused.

Why Attend
For a financial-services executive in Asia this is the week the regulators, the incumbents and the capital are all in one building. The HKMA, SFC and Insurance Authority co-organise it, so policy direction on AI in finance, tokenisation and cross-border data comes from the people who will supervise you rather than from a consultant's read-out. The AI and DeepTech and AI in Finance forums give you a fast comparison of what peer banks and insurers have actually put into production, the Deal Floor and Business Matching programme converts 800-plus exhibitors and startups into scheduled meetings instead of a walk-around, and the Shenzhen day is the cheapest way to see the Greater Bay Area's industrial AI supply chain first-hand.

What Makes This Unique
- ★Government-convened rather than commercial: the FSTB, CEDB and InvestHK organise it with the HKMA, SFC and Insurance Authority as co-organisers, so the regulators are on stage rather than in the audience.
- ★Scale - organisers expect more than 45,000 attendees from 120-plus economies, making it Asia's largest fintech gathering by headcount.
- ★Four of the eleven main-conference forums are AI-specific (AI and DeepTech, AI in Finance, China-Global Innovation, AI in GBA), so it now functions as much as an applied-AI conference as a fintech one.
- ★Cross-border by design: the AI in GBA Forum physically relocates to Shenzhen on 4 November, positioning the Greater Bay Area as an industrial-AI corridor rather than a talking point.
- ★A genuinely cheap way in for early-stage companies - a Startup Pass is US$109 against a US$329 general pass, for companies founded 2021 or later with under US$2m revenue and 50 or fewer employees.
