About This Event

CVPR 2028, the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, runs 11-15 June 2028 in San Antonio, Texas, and is the largest annual gathering in computer vision. The Computer Vision Foundation and the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence have already seated the committee years out: Tal Hassner and Ayellet Tal are General Chairs, with Konstantinos Derpanis and Xiaoming Liu as Program Chairs. CVPR's standing format is a single main technical track of parallel oral and poster sessions wrapped in co-located workshops and tutorials, plus a demonstrations track and an art programme; recent editions have drawn more than 9,000 professionals from roughly 75 countries. San Antonio is a first for the series, which rotates US host cities on a published multi-year schedule — Denver in 2026, Seattle in 2027, San Antonio in 2028 and Los Angeles in 2029.

Why Attend

For a CTO or VP of AI shipping anything that sees — document understanding, visual inspection, autonomous systems, medical imaging, retail analytics — CVPR is where next year's production models are first published, and where the people who built them are hiring or looking to be hired. The workshop programme is the practical half: narrowly scoped days where teams present what did not work as well as what did, which is the part a vendor briefing never covers. Committing to 2028 now means budgeting a Texas trip well ahead of the rate card, and using the co-located demonstrations to compare perception approaches side by side rather than through a sales deck.

Event Features

  • Main technical programme of parallel oral and poster sessions selected through CVF peer review
  • Multi-day co-located workshop programme (CVPR 2026's workshop-proposal deadline was 3 November 2025)
  • Tutorials programme running alongside the main conference
  • Demonstrations track (CVPR 2026 demo submissions closed 20 March 2026)
  • Art programme and other special programmes alongside the technical track

What Makes This Unique

  • Largest single venue in computer vision — recent editions report more than 9,000 professionals from around 75 countries, an order of magnitude more vision researchers in one place than any regional alternative.
  • Committee named years ahead and published by both CVF and IEEE TCPAMI: General Chairs Tal Hassner and Ayellet Tal, Program Chairs Konstantinos Derpanis and Xiaoming Liu.
  • First CVPR held in San Antonio; the series publishes its host-city rotation years out (Denver 2026, Seattle 2027, San Antonio 2028, Los Angeles 2029, Denver 2030, Seattle 2031), so travel can be planned against a known schedule.
  • Co-located workshops and tutorials take up a large share of the week, so one trip covers both frontier peer-reviewed research and hands-on method tutorials.

Pricing Details

Not published. Registration is not open and CVF has published no rate card for CVPR 2028 — the conference is years out and only the host city, dates and committee are confirmed. For reference, CVPR 2026 (Denver, 3-7 June 2026) set its early-registration deadline at 23 April 2026 and offered both in-person and virtual registration, so expect the 2028 rate card roughly two months before the June 2028 dates.
