Unveiled at SAP Sapphire 2026, the SAP Business AI Platform is SAP's unified stack for enterprise AI, consolidating SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Business Data Cloud and AI Foundation into a single architecture that SAP positions as the foundation for the 'autonomous enterprise.' It is organized into three layers: a context layer that grounds AI agents in decades of ERP domain knowledge using knowledge graphs, SAP Business Data Cloud and new SAP Domain Models pre-trained on SAP code and business logic; a build layer centered on Joule Studio 2.0, a low-code environment for business analysts and citizen developers to create agents, apps and workflows natively grounded in live business data; and a governance layer, SAP AI Agent Hub (built on SAP LeanIX), a central command center to discover, verify, observe, manage and optimize every agent across the enterprise. Joule Studio 2.0 began rolling out in June 2026 and SAP AI Agent Hub is targeted for general availability in Q3 2026 at no additional charge within the platform. SAP is betting that regulated enterprises in financial services, healthcare, life sciences and the public sector will value governance, auditability and deep business context over raw model capability.
