CNCF's flagship European conference — Kubernetes, platform engineering and cloud native AI, in Barcelona

About This Event

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2027 is the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's flagship European conference, held 15-18 March 2027 at the CCIB — International Barcelona Convention Centre in Barcelona, Spain. It is the largest European gathering of Kubernetes, container and cloud native practitioners, run by CNCF under The Linux Foundation. The technical programme is organised into five tracks — AI, Observability, Platform Engineering, Security, and Emerging + Advanced — and the immediately preceding European edition scheduled 224 keynotes, lightning talks, maintainer-track sessions and CFP breakout sessions. A full day of CNCF-hosted co-located events opens the week with deep dives into AI, observability, platform engineering, security and WebAssembly. CNCF notes that 41% of AI developers now work cloud native, a share it expects to keep growing, which is why the AI track sits alongside the infrastructure tracks rather than apart from them.

Who Should Attend

  • Platform Engineering Leads
  • VP of Infrastructure
  • CTO
  • Site Reliability Engineers
  • Cloud Architects
  • Head of AI Platform
  • DevOps Engineers
  • Security Engineers

Why Attend

For a CTO or VP of platform engineering, this is where the runtime your AI workloads will actually sit on gets decided in public. The AI track and the co-located AI day put model serving, GPU scheduling and agentic workload patterns next to the maintainers who write them, so you can pressure-test a 2027 platform roadmap against upstream direction rather than against a vendor deck. The maintainer track is the one setting where a production blocker can be raised directly with a project's owners. The sponsor floor lets you compare the whole Kubernetes-adjacent vendor landscape — observability, security, cost management, service mesh, storage — across three days instead of a quarter of analyst calls and individual briefings.

Event Features

  • AI track — applications and techniques for implementing AI/ML in cloud native ecosystems
  • Observability track — metrics, logs, events and trace spans across workloads
  • Platform Engineering track — building platforms and automating infrastructure operations
  • Security track — vulnerability management, identity, multi-tenancy and threat modeling
  • Emerging + Advanced track — cutting-edge research and high-performance computing solutions
  • CNCF-hosted co-located events day, including WebAssembly (WASM) deep dives
  • Maintainer track sessions, keynotes and lightning talks (224 sessions scheduled in the preceding European edition)

What Makes This Unique

  • CNCF's flagship European edition: the upstream maintainers of the CNCF project landscape present their own roadmaps in maintainer-track sessions, rather than vendors presenting their interpretation of them
  • A dedicated AI track sits alongside Observability, Platform Engineering, Security and Emerging + Advanced, so cloud native AI is treated as core infrastructure programming instead of a bolt-on keynote theme
  • A full day of CNCF-hosted co-located events precedes the main conference, giving project-level deep dives (AI, observability, platform engineering, security, WebAssembly) that a single-track summit cannot
  • Vendor-neutral by charter under The Linux Foundation, with a community CFP selecting the programme; the preceding edition priced its academic pass at a flat $275 in every registration window
