About This Event

IEEE SSP 2027, the 24th IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop, runs 28 June – 1 July 2027 at the Centre de Congrès Impérial on the shore of Lake Annecy in the French Alps. Sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, it is a focused single-venue workshop on the statistical methods underneath modern sensing and AI systems: its call for papers covers machine learning and pattern recognition, data-driven methods and deep learning applications alongside detection theory, biomedical signal processing, optimization and quantum signal processing. Authors submit four-page papers plus a page of references by 7 February 2027, accepted papers are published in IEEE Xplore, and the programme adds tutorials, special sessions, plenary talks and a best student paper competition. General chairs are Guillaume Ginolhac and Esa Ollila.

Statistical signal processingMachine learning and pattern recognitionDeep learning applicationsData-driven methodsDetection theoryBiomedical signal processingOptimizationQuantum signal processing

Who Should Attend

  • Signal processing and machine learning researchers
  • Data scientists working on estimation and uncertainty
  • Radar, communications and sensing engineers
  • PhD students
  • R&D leads in defence, telecom and medical devices

Why Attend

SSP is a small specialist workshop, so its value to a technology leader is targeted rather than broad. It is where the statistical methods behind reliable detection, estimation and uncertainty quantification are presented by the people who develop them, and those are the parts of an ML system that decide whether its outputs can be trusted. For R&D heads in radar, communications, medical sensing or quantitative ML, it is an efficient place to recruit PhD talent and meet academic partners, at a published all-inclusive price.

Event Features

  • Call for papers: four-page papers plus references (due 7 February 2027)
  • Tutorials
  • Special sessions
  • Plenary talks (speakers to be confirmed)
  • Best Student Paper Competition
  • Call for journal papers
  • Welcome reception (Monday) and banquet dinner (Wednesday)

What Makes This Unique

  • Workshop scale rather than a mega-conference: one venue and one programme, with direct access to the researchers presenting
  • Centred on statistical rigour (detection, estimation, uncertainty) that trustworthy machine learning depends on
  • Accepted papers are published in IEEE Xplore
  • Full registration pricing is published a year ahead, with an all-inclusive package (reception, banquet, proceedings)
  • Runs a call for journal papers alongside the four-page workshop format
