IEDM 2026 — 72nd IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting
by IEEE Electron Devices Society
Devices at the Heart of the Intelligence Revolution
About This Event
IEDM 2026, the 72nd IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting, takes place 12-16 December 2026 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square in San Francisco, with recorded presentations available on demand afterward. The IEEE Electron Devices Society sponsors it, and it is where the semiconductor industry presents device, memory and manufacturing research. The technical program has more than 220 presentations, three plenary talks, focus sessions, six tutorials, two short courses and supplier exhibits. This year's theme puts AI at the center: the call gave special emphasis to AI and new compute paradigms, in-memory computing, neuromorphic computing and AI accelerators, advanced memory and chiplet packaging. Keynote speakers come from Intel Foundry, SK hynix and STMicroelectronics.

Topics & Focus Areas
Who Should Attend
- ✓Semiconductor device and process engineers
- ✓Memory technology teams
- ✓AI hardware and accelerator architects
- ✓R&D directors at foundries and chip companies
- ✓Academic microelectronics researchers
- ✓Technology strategists tracking semiconductor roadmaps
Why Attend
Memory bandwidth and power now set the cost of AI inference, and IEDM is where the next generation of DRAM, HBM, logic and packaging is first described in detail. A technology leader planning multi-year AI infrastructure gets roadmap evidence from Intel Foundry, SK hynix and STMicroelectronics in one place, can send engineers to the tutorials for a lower fee, and returns with a better sense of which in-memory and neuromorphic approaches are near production and which are still research.
Event Features
- ✓Theme: Devices at the Heart of the Intelligence Revolution
- ✓Keynotes from Intel Foundry, SK hynix and STMicroelectronics
- ✓Six tutorials and two short courses
- ✓Technical subcommittees: Advanced Logic, Emerging Device and Compute, Memory, Modeling and Simulation, Neuromorphic and Novel Computing, Optoelectronics, Power and mm-Wave, Reliability, Sensors and Bioelectronics
- ✓Focus sessions and three plenary presentations
- ✓Supplier exhibits and IEEE/EDS awards
- ✓OnDemand access to recorded presentations after the meeting
What Makes This Unique
- ★Sponsored by the IEEE Electron Devices Society, with keynotes in 2026 from a foundry (Intel Foundry), a memory maker (SK hynix) and an integrated device maker (STMicroelectronics)
- ★A dedicated Neuromorphic and Novel Computing subcommittee alongside memory and logic, so AI-specific hardware gets its own review track
- ★Accepted four-page papers are published as submitted, and a late-news deadline lets the newest results in
- ★Tutorials and short courses are priced separately, so engineers can attend the teaching day without the full conference
