About This Event

IBC2027 takes place 10-13 September 2027 at RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands, the venue and month the convention has kept since 1967. IBC is unusual in being owned by six industry bodies — IABM, IEEE, IET, RTS, SCTE and SMPTE — rather than a commercial promoter, and it draws roughly 44,000-45,000 attendees from more than 170 countries across 14-plus halls, with over 1,200 exhibitors. Alongside the exhibition it runs a full conference programme, an Accelerator Innovation Programme building real cross-company prototypes, the IBC Innovation Awards across content creation, content distribution, content everywhere and social impact, a Content Everywhere stream, and a peer-reviewed Technical Papers programme. AI-driven creativity, intelligent media management and cloud production workflows now run through all of it.

Why Attend

A media or content-operations CTO gets the whole supply chain in one building: the AI production and media-management vendors, the cloud and distribution partners, the standards bodies that own the specs, and the Accelerator teams demonstrating prototypes that were built rather than pitched. That combination makes IBC the practical place to shortlist an AI post-production or media-asset stack, check a vendor's claims against a working demo and against the SMPTE and IET people who define the interoperability it depends on, and see which competitors have already moved. The Technical Papers programme and Innovation Awards give an evidence trail most trade shows cannot offer.

Event Features

  • IBC Conference programme centred on AI-driven creativity and industry transformation
  • Accelerator Innovation Programme with Google as headline sponsor and EIT Culture & Creativity as innovation partner
  • IBC Innovation Awards across content creation, content distribution, content everywhere and social impact
  • Content Everywhere — dedicated exhibiting and programming stream
  • Technical Papers Programme included with conference passes
  • 14+ exhibition halls plus outdoor exhibitors at RAI Amsterdam

What Makes This Unique

  • Owned by six non-profit industry bodies (IABM, IEEE, IET, RTS, SCTE, SMPTE), so the programme is not a single promoter's sales funnel
  • The Accelerator Innovation Programme builds working cross-company prototypes over months and demos them on the floor — Google is headline sponsor, with EIT Culture & Creativity as innovation partner
  • A peer-reviewed Technical Papers programme sits alongside the trade floor, which most media trade shows do not have
  • 44,000+ attendees from 170+ countries across 14+ halls makes it the one place the European media supply chain is fully assembled
  • Running since 1967 in the same city and venue, so the buying cycle of the entire industry is scheduled around it
