About This Event

IAPP Privacy. Security. Risk. + AI Governance Global 2027 runs 14-17 September 2027 in Vancouver, Canada — the first time the IAPP has taken its combined P.S.R. and AI Governance Global programme to Canada. P.S.R. is the IAPP's technology-facing conference, aimed at the practitioners who have to operationalise privacy, security and AI governance rather than argue policy: engineers, privacy technologists, security leaders and AI governance professionals. The 2026 edition in Seattle ran 6-9 October with 200+ speakers, 50+ sessions and 50+ exhibitors across four days of training, workshops and main conference, covering enforcement strategy, AI product counselling, cybersecurity audits, privacy-enhancing technologies and AI governance implementation. Sessions carry CPE credits toward IAPP and security certifications.

Why Attend

This is the IAPP event to send the people who build and audit things rather than the people who write the policy. Over four days a privacy engineer, a security lead and an AI governance manager can each take certification training, then sit in sessions on how peers are actually reviewing AI products, running cybersecurity audits and deploying privacy-enhancing technologies. Booking it more than a year out is the point: Vancouver in September 2027 lets you plan headcount, training budget and certification renewals around a single trip, and the CPE credits make the spend defensible.

Event Features

  • Two days of pre-conference training
  • Dedicated workshop day
  • Two-day main conference programme
  • AI governance implementation sessions
  • AI product counselling sessions
  • Cybersecurity audit and assurance programming
  • Privacy-enhancing technologies track
  • Enforcement-strategy sessions
  • Exhibitor expo and CPE-credit-bearing sessions

What Makes This Unique

  • P.S.R. is the IAPP's technical conference — the sessions are about implementing controls, running audits and reviewing AI products, not about interpreting statutes, which is what separates it from the IAPP Global Summit.
  • AI Governance Global is merged into it rather than run as a separate event, so privacy engineers and AI governance leads are in the same building and the same hallway conversations.
  • Moving to Vancouver for 2027 makes it materially cheaper and simpler to attend for Canadian and Pacific Northwest organisations that have been travelling to US editions.
  • Runs training and workshop days ahead of the main conference, so a team can combine certification work with the conference in one trip.
  • Sessions carry CPE credits, which is why compliance and security teams can usually get the budget approved.
