AIES 2026 — Ninth AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society

AIES 2026, the Ninth AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society, is held October 12–14, 2026 in Malmö, Sweden, jointly organised by AAAI and ACM. It is the main peer-reviewed venue where computer scientists, philosophers, legal scholars and social scientists present research on how AI is governed and what it does to institutions and people. The 2026 call is organised around five areas: power, governance and political economy; AI systems, values and ethical design; AI in social and institutional domains such as law, healthcare and public administration; work, labor and global inequalities; and critique, consequences and limits of AI. Conference co-chairs are Virginia Dignum and Petter Ericson of Umeå University; programme co-chairs come from the University of Washington, NYU, Utrecht University and Purdue.
