AI data security platform that maps which people and agents can reach sensitive data and removes excess access
Sentra is an AI data security and governance platform for security and data teams at large enterprises. It finds sensitive data across cloud, SaaS and on-premises stores, maps which people and AI agents can access it, and removes access they should not have before an agent uses it.
Sentra is a data security platform founded in 2021 by Yoav Regev, Asaf Kochan, Ron Reiter and Yair Cohen, with offices in New York and Tel Aviv. It combines four product types that enterprises often buy separately: data security posture management, data detection and response, data access governance and data loss prevention. The platform runs inside the customer's environment and analyzes data there using agentless, ephemeral scanning, so sensitive data is not copied to Sentra. It covers AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, data warehouses, SaaS, on-premises stores and Microsoft 365 Copilot. In April 2025 it added Data Security for AI Agents, which inventories agents, their models and connected knowledge bases, with support for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Amazon Bedrock and ChatGPT Enterprise. The company can automatically revoke an agent's permissions when it behaves unexpectedly, according to Ynetnews. Sentra licenses generally by the volume of data at rest. On November 4, 2026 it announced a $150M investment led by Capital One Ventures, with a Capital One representative joining the board, which takes total funding past $250M. Its site shows logos including Lyft, SoFi, Global-e, Glovo and Valenz Health, and Lyft's CISO is quoted in the funding announcement. Tech Funding News reports that Wiz has used Sentra's classifications in its security graph since April 2026. Cyera is the closest rival and is far better capitalized, at a reported $12B valuation. Ynetnews put Sentra's headcount at 130.
A CISO or head of data security rolling out copilots and agents across multi-cloud data estates, who needs to know what those agents can reach before granting access.
A map of sensitive data and of every human and AI identity that can reach it, with excess access removed before an agent uses it.

Key Features
- ✓AI Security inventory
Lists agents, copilots and models along with the data each one can reach, which gives security teams a starting scope for AI rollouts.
- ✓Data discovery and classification
Continuously finds and classifies sensitive data across cloud, SaaS, warehouses and on-premises stores, including shadow data that audits tend to miss.
- ✓Data and access governance
Moves people and agents toward least privilege by identifying and removing access that their roles do not justify.
- ✓Next-Gen DLP
Right-sizes agent permissions and monitors usage and prompts, and classification signals feed the controls a company already runs.
- ✓In-environment agentless scanning
Scans ephemerally inside the customer's environment, which the vendor says avoids egress costs and third-party retention of sensitive data.
- ✓Privacy Operations
Tracks whose personal data AI systems touch and produces audit evidence for privacy teams.
Capabilities
Use Cases
- •Copilot readiness review
A security team maps what Microsoft 365 Copilot could surface for each user, then removes excess access before a company-wide rollout.
- •Agent containment
When an agent behaves unexpectedly, the platform can revoke its permissions, which limits the sensitive data that agent can still reach.
- •Cloud data audit
A team finds shadow data through agentless discovery across its cloud estate, which one PeerSpot reviewer says makes cloud audits smoother.
- •Stale data cleanup
Data owners retire stale and duplicate records through the storage module, which shrinks both the exposure surface and the storage bill.
Ideal For
Best For
- ✓Data security posture management across multi-cloud, SaaS and on-premises stores
- ✓Reducing sensitive data exposure before rolling out Microsoft 365 Copilot or internal agents
- ✓Moving human and agent access toward least privilege with audit evidence for privacy teams
- ✓Enterprises that require scanning to stay inside their own cloud environment
Not Ideal For
- ✗Teams that want a published price or a self-serve start, since Sentra quotes each deal from the data volume and environment
- ✗Buyers whose main need is controlling the actions agents take at runtime, such as tool calls and commands, because Sentra centers on data and access; a dedicated agent runtime product fits that need better
- ✗Buyers who rely on deep peer-review evidence, since PeerSpot shows a single review
Deployment
Market Analysis
Pros
- ✓Sensitive data stays in the customer's environment during scanning, which helps with sovereignty and procurement review
- ✓SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR and TX-RAMP Level 2 are listed on its Trust Center
- ✓Named enterprise users including Lyft, plus a classification partnership with Wiz reported by Tech Funding News
Cons
- ✗No published pricing, and volume-based licensing means costs track the size of your data estate
- ✗Independent review evidence is thin: PeerSpot shows one review, whose only complaint is that the classification section could be quicker to use
- ✗Headline claims such as 98%+ classification accuracy and 351% ROI come from the vendor or a study it cites
- ✗Much smaller than Cyera by reported capital, in a category already consolidating through Veeam's purchase of Securiti

Sentra publishes no plans or prices. Licenses are generally based on the volume of data at rest across IaaS, PaaS, DBaaS, SaaS and on-premises stores, and each quote follows a review of your data stores. Its site cites about $40,000 a year to scan 100 PB, but that comes from a vendor-run comparison and is not a list price.
