About This Event

AI-2026, the 46th SGAI International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, runs December 15-17, 2026 at Peterhouse College, Cambridge, England. It is the annual conference of the British Computer Society's Specialist Group on Artificial Intelligence, which calls it the longest-running AI conference series in Europe. Papers are split into a Technical Stream and an Application Stream; the second is for real-world AI case studies in commerce, manufacturing and government, including lessons from failures. The first day has four half-day workshops: generative AI, AI ethics and the philosophy of logic, AI and learning health systems, and AI for business, strategy and manufacturing. The next two days bring technical and application keynotes, best-paper sessions, poster sessions and an AI Open Mic. FAIRS'26, a forum for AI research students, runs the day before on December 14. Proceedings appear in Springer's Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence.

Why Attend

AI-2026 suits a UK-based CIO, head of data or AI programme lead who wants to hear practitioners describe what broke when AI went into production. The Application Stream is built around those case studies in commerce, manufacturing and government. The workshop day maps onto current enterprise questions: generative AI (chaired from BT Labs), AI in learning health systems, and AI for business strategy and manufacturing. It is small enough that you will actually talk to the authors, which makes it a good place to find academic partners for Innovate UK or KTP projects. Non-presenting delegates can buy day passes, so the cost of a one-day visit stays low.

Event Features

  • ✓Workshop: Generative AI, Challenges and Opportunities (chair: Dr Carla Di Cairano-Gilfedder, BT Labs)
  • ✓Workshop: AI Ethics and the Philosophy of Logic and Computation
  • ✓Workshop: AI and Learning Health Systems
  • ✓Workshop: AI for Business, Strategy and Manufacturing
  • ✓Technical Keynote and Application Keynote lectures
  • ✓Best refereed technical, application and student paper sessions
  • ✓AI Open Mic
  • ✓FAIRS'26 Forum for AI Research Students (December 14)
  • ✓Proceedings in Springer Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence

What Makes This Unique

  • ★It is the 46th edition of what the BCS calls Europe's longest-running AI conference series.
  • ★A dedicated Application Stream asks for case studies of moving AI into production and requires authors to state lessons from failures as well as successes.
  • ★It is small and held in a Cambridge college, with an AI Open Mic and a gala dinner, so delegates get time with speakers.
  • ★Day rates and group bookings are offered to non-presenting delegates.
