The Open Compute Project's annual summit on open hardware for AI data centers, moving to Moscone Center

About This Event

The 2027 OCP Global Summit is the Open Compute Project Foundation's annual in-person conference on open data center hardware, held October 4-7, 2027 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. It is the first edition after the summit left San Jose, which OCP says the event had outgrown; the 2026 edition sold out at about 15,000 attendees, up 38% from 10,835 in 2025. The program runs OCP Project technical sessions, Special Focus Sessions curated by a separate program committee, the Future Technologies Symposium and the Innovation Village of demo stations and lightning talks. Recent editions have centred on AI infrastructure: at the 2025 summit Google, Meta and Microsoft released 1 MW rack specifications and NVIDIA contributed its GB300 compute shelf design. The call for proposals opens May 3, 2027, and the event is in-person only with no live streaming or remote presentation.

  • ✓Hardware and systems engineers
  • ✓CTOs and VPs of infrastructure
  • ✓Hyperscale and cloud operators
  • ✓Silicon, server and networking vendors
  • ✓Data center facilities and power engineers
  • ✓Procurement and supply chain leaders

Why Attend

If you buy or design AI infrastructure, this is where the hyperscalers publish the rack, power, cooling and networking specifications your suppliers will build to next. A CTO or VP of infrastructure can compare liquid cooling and high-density rack approaches with the engineers who wrote the specs, meet the server, silicon and facilities vendors in one hall, and come back with a clearer view of which open standards to require in the next data center or colocation contract. Register early: the 2026 edition sold out and OCP did not offer onsite registration.

Event Features

  • ✓OCP Project breakout sessions: technical deep dives on current project work and new products
  • ✓Special Focus Sessions curated by a dedicated program committee on topics from adjacent communities
  • ✓OCP Foundation curated sessions
  • ✓Future Technologies Symposium (part of the same call for proposals)
  • ✓Innovation Village with interactive demo stations and lightning sessions
  • ✓Expo floor and co-located events

What Makes This Unique

  • ★Sessions must report collaborative OCP Project engineering work and are explicitly non-commercial, so breakouts are spec and design discussions instead of vendor pitches
  • ★Hyperscalers publish shared hardware specifications here: Google, Meta and Microsoft released 1 MW rack specs at the 2025 summit
  • ★Sold out in 2026 at about 15,000 attendees, which forced the move to Moscone Center from 2027
  • ★Diamond-tier sponsors at the 2026 edition included AMD, Arm, Cisco, Dell, Google, Intel, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Samsung
