Four components make up the release. Boomi Connect is an MCP gateway exposing more than 1,000 governed enterprise tools. The Boomi AI Gateway, built on technology from the Israeli startup Lunar.dev whose acquisition Boomi announced in May 2026 and completed in late July 2026, combines MCP and LLM gateway functions: it inspects live traffic, applies identity checks and rate limits, routes between models, tracks token consumption and holds high-risk transactional actions for human approval. Boomi Runtime executes agent workloads in public cloud, in a customer VPC, or entirely on-premises behind the firewall for data-sovereignty requirements. Boomi Orchestrate is a natural-language builder for agentic workflows. A universal registry records every native and third-party agent alongside lineage and audit logs, and the platform is deliberately model- and vendor-neutral, supporting commercial LLMs, open-weight models and private instances. Boomi has operated independently since Francisco Partners and TPG bought it from Dell for $4 billion in 2021, and says it serves more than 15,000 customers. Constellation Research called the layer one of the more valuable control points in enterprise AI, while noting it does not yet measure whether an agent achieved its intended business outcome.
