Overview

Snowflake announced Snowflake Practitioner at its Expedition 2026 event on November 3, 2026, as a free course for all customers and partners worldwide. Snowflake points learners who finish it toward its specialist tracks and SnowPro certification. You can take it in a public or private instructor-led class, run as a two-day curriculum, or on demand at your own pace (course OD-SPP), which Snowflake estimates at about 12 hours of moderate effort. Each module follows the same pattern: a lecture, then a lab. The lectures are shared. The labs depend on your role: data analysts work on querying, reporting, visualisation and AI-assisted analysis; data engineers on loading, transformation, pipelines and orchestration; platform administrators on security, roles, access control, cost management and monitoring. The labs run in Snowflake Workspace Notebooks, and CoCo, Snowflake's coding agent for data teams, is used in all three tracks, so learners do the lab work with an agent beside them. Lab access lasts 30 days from enrolment. Completing the course unlocks the Snowflake Practitioner Assessment and Badge. SnowPro exam fees are not covered. Snowflake assumes basic SQL and recommends its free Snowflake Platform Training and MFA Essentials courses first.
