About This Event

The Global AI Summit (GAIN) 2026 is the fourth edition of Saudi Arabia's state-level artificial intelligence summit, held 15-17 September 2026 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It is organised by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and runs on a biennial cycle following the 2020, 2022 and 2024 editions. The 2024 edition drew more than 32,000 delegates and over 450 speakers from more than 100 countries across roughly 150 sessions on four stages — AI Minds, AI Synergy Sessions, Deep Learning Sessions and AI Unplugged — with generative AI, AI in urban life and the ethical governance of AI as headline themes, and Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, Martin Kon of Cohere, Nick Studer of Oliver Wyman and Marc Raibert of Boston Dynamics among the speakers. GAIN mixes head-of-state plenaries and ministerial roundtables with commercial dealmaking: previous editions produced the UNESCO-affiliated International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) in Riyadh, an AWS investment announcement, and memoranda of understanding with Microsoft, IBM, Dell and Oracle.

Why Attend

GAIN is where sovereign AI policy and Gulf enterprise budgets are set in the same week, which makes it a materially different trip from a vendor conference. A CTO or chief AI officer selling into or building in the region can meet national AI authority leadership, government ministers and the hyperscaler executives negotiating with them without booking six separate trips, and can read Saudi regulatory direction on data residency, Arabic-language models and AI governance directly from the people drafting it. Past editions have hosted multi-billion-dollar infrastructure announcements and government memoranda of understanding, so it functions as a dealmaking forum as much as a conference — and the biennial cadence means missing it costs two years.

Event Features

  • Plenary sessions featuring heads of state and government ministers
  • Ministerial roundtables on AI governance and international regulatory frameworks
  • Exhibition halls with national and vendor technology demonstrations
  • Sector working sessions covering energy, healthcare, finance and public services
  • Bilateral meeting facilities for government-to-corporate engagement
  • International AI Olympiad, contested by 25 countries at the 2024 edition
  • Stage formats carried from 2024: AI Minds, AI Synergy Sessions, Deep Learning Sessions and AI Unplugged
  • Programme strand on Arabic-language AI models, including SDAIA's ALLaM

What Makes This Unique

  • A state-level summit held under the patronage of the Crown Prince and organised by SDAIA, so national AI policy is announced here rather than reported on afterwards
  • Biennial rather than annual — 2020, 2022, 2024, now 2026 — so each edition carries two years of accumulated Saudi AI strategy
  • Past editions produced institutions and capital, not just panels: ICAIRE (a UNESCO-affiliated AI research and ethics centre in Riyadh), an AWS investment announcement, and MoUs signed with Microsoft, IBM, Dell and Oracle
  • Ministerial roundtables and bilateral government-to-corporate meeting facilities sit inside the programme alongside the conference stages
  • The 2024 edition drew 32,000+ delegates and 450+ speakers from 100+ countries, placing it among the largest AI gatherings outside the United States and China
