About This Event

EAAI-27, the Seventeenth Symposium on Educational Advances in Artificial Intelligence, runs 21-23 February 2027 in Montréal, sponsored by AAAI and co-located with AAAI-27 at the Palais des Congrès. It is the main peer-reviewed venue for how AI is taught rather than what AI can do, covering search, logic, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, generative AI, AI ethics, AI literacy and AI safety. Three tracks run: a Main Track split into Education Research and Experience Report / Innovative Practice; an AI Education in K-12 track; and the Model AI Assignments special track, which publishes ready-to-run course assignments other instructors can adopt directly. Submissions are up to seven pages plus two of references, double-blind reviewed through EasyChair, and must be presented in person under AAAI policy. The programme includes invited talks and a talk from the recipient of the AAAI/EAAI Outstanding AI Educator Award 2027.

Why Attend

This is a narrow but genuinely useful room for anyone who has to build AI capability rather than buy it. Heads of learning and development, engineering enablement leads and university partnership managers come away with peer-reviewed curriculum instead of vendor training decks, and the Model AI Assignments track hands over assignments that have already been run with real cohorts and can be reused directly inside an internal academy. It is also the cheapest way to see which universities are producing the graduates you intend to hire, because the people presenting are the ones teaching them, and it sits inside AAAI-27 so a single trip covers both.

Event Features

  • Main Track, Area 1: Education Research
  • Main Track, Area 2: Experience Report and Innovative Practice
  • AI Education in K-12 track
  • Model AI Assignments special track — published, reusable course assignments
  • Invited talks, including the AAAI/EAAI Outstanding AI Educator Award 2027 talk
  • Co-located with AAAI-27 (16-23 February) and IAAI-27 (18-20 February)
  • Double-blind review via EasyChair; 7 pages plus 2 pages of references; mandatory in-person presentation

What Makes This Unique

  • The only AAAI-sponsored venue dedicated to AI teaching and learning rather than to AI results
  • The Model AI Assignments track publishes runnable course assignments, not just papers describing them — instructors can adopt them straight into a syllabus
  • A dedicated AI Education in K-12 track, rare inside a research-grade AI venue
  • Sits inside AAAI-27 and IAAI-27, so one trip covers frontier research, deployed industrial AI and the education pipeline that feeds both
  • Two paper areas — Education Research and Experience Report / Innovative Practice — so practitioner reports are peer-reviewed alongside formal studies
