The 41st ACM SIGCOMM conference on computer networking, in Bangkok, August 8-12, 2027

About This Event

ACM SIGCOMM 2027 is the 41st edition of ACM's flagship conference on data communications and computer networking, held August 8-12, 2027 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. SIGCOMM is the top research venue for networking, with an acceptance rate of about 10%, and it covers every kind of network: datacenter, wide-area, mobile, home and enterprise, plus the optical and wireless technologies underneath them. The call for papers explicitly includes AI and machine learning applied to networking. Main-track papers are due February 2, 2027 with no extensions, and accepted papers are published on July 18, 2027. The 2027 site is the series' 'wild card' slot, chosen to sit outside North America and Europe. The general chairs are Kanchana Kanchanasut (Asian Institute of Technology) and Jim Kurose (UMass Amherst). The program chairs are Ranjita Bhagwan (Google), Nate Foster (EPFL and Jane Street), Aurojit Panda (NYU) and Scott Shenker (UC Berkeley).

Why Attend

If you run infrastructure for AI training or inference, SIGCOMM is where the networking research your fabric will depend on in two years gets published first: congestion control, datacenter topologies, failure diagnosis and verification. The program chairs come from Google, EPFL and Jane Street, NYU and UC Berkeley, so you will meet the people building hyperscaler networks and the academics who train your future network engineers. Send architects and recruiters, not just researchers.

Event Features

  • ✓Main technical track with double-blind review, 12-page papers due February 2, 2027 (hard deadline)
  • ✓Experience track for papers on deployed systems, marked with an 'Experience:' title prefix
  • ✓Call for papers covering AI and machine learning applied to networking, alongside theory, analysis and experimentation
  • ✓Coverage of the full network life cycle: planning, design, deployment, operations, troubleshooting, migration and end-of-life
  • ✓Ethics review: authors must flag and describe any ethical issues, which the program committee evaluates separately
  • ✓Accepted papers published July 18, 2027, three weeks before the conference opens

What Makes This Unique

  • ★Wikipedia describes it as the leading conference in data communications and networking, with an acceptance rate around 10%
  • ★The program committee is chaired by researchers from Google, EPFL and Jane Street, NYU and UC Berkeley, including Scott Shenker
  • ★Its datacenter and wide-area networking papers are where much of the published work on the networks behind large-scale AI training and inference first appears
  • ★The 2027 edition is the series' 'wild card' rotation slot, held in Southeast Asia rather than North America or Europe
